The End Game
Member since 2010-03-18
Hi All,

“Back before the election, the Dems floated the idea of confiscating all 401k's and pulling them into social security. They proposed giving everybody $200 a year tax break and a 5% per year growth rate.”

Methinks that this is their end game. They know that the current deficits are unsustainable and they are actually, purposely pushing us towards insolvency. (As in both the current budget & health care) Then, the only way for the government to “solve” this “crisis” is to confiscate all of the IRA’s and 401Ks into the general fund.

From their unique perspective, it’s not “fair” that “rich people” can amass all of this money for their retirement, under their own control, anyway.

So when our government does go insolvent, look for the Dems to trot out this “solution”… (Never let a good crisis go to waste)

Impossible?

1 The dems did this once before to the Social Security fund (President Johnson)

2 Remember post WWI Germany and what people will accept after economic collapse & hyperinflation…

Regards,

Scott

You aren't giving the Progressives much credit. 401's, IRA's and any tax deferred retirement would all disappear with a stroke of the "tax break be gone" pen.

The "End Game" is a sustainable Proletariate, designed to fairly ration everything as they see fit. Roosevelt's Second Bill of Rights is the "End Game". Health Care, Home, Food, Living Wage (Job Optional), Recreation and all, at their discretion.

I am a progressive, very involved in the political activisim that is typical of the progressive movement, and to let you know...your "end game" summary, isn't exactly correct. We don't want total rationing everyone down to the same. That is ridiculous. What we do want is to work on our infrastructure so we don't have the income gap we currently endure. Living wages haven't increased since 1972, yet prices have skyrocketed. This isn't right. This cannot last. When those that reap, also write the laws, you and I get screwed. SO....there ya go.

Not exactly correct, but correct! Progressive don't want "total" rationing, just mostly rationing! The workers, oppressed by the man, boohoo. Income gap, boohoo. Fairness, social justice, blah, blah blah.

The "Class Warfare" narrative from the progressive left serves no constructive purpose.
