Republican Party Comeback
Member since 2010-02-23
There are certain Republicans that deserve to be defeated, challenged, and verbally put down.

But ALL Republicans?

The Republican party is changing. It’s returning to its grassroots thanks to the tea party movement. I'm not saying the Tea party movement is a Republican movement, don't get me wrong. But it has caused Republicans to wake up and remember just what their party was supposed to be all about.

Beck talks about Centrist Libertarians. What is a centrist Libertarian????? What kind of goofy language is that? Making up things as you go along?

We need some coherent arguments about our philosophy and their philosophy. Because of a lack of clarity! Beck is wishy washy and mixing up everything into one pot, and making it sound like we’re all the same.

The Republican party is in fact in transition, and is 41 solid against healthcare. You don’t shoot them in the back, especially when they are doing what they are asking you to do.

Isn’t it obvious that they are different than the Democrats??? And if they respond positively to us, what do you do? LYNCH them?? NO, you pat them on the back!

If you’re not attacking all Republicans, then speak with some clarity. If you’re not rejecting political action, then don’t tell people not to worry about the next election.

It’s time to unite – we have a common foe. We’re on the move!

We’re doing exactly what we should be doing. We are in fact taking back the Republican party. We’re attracting people with the Conservative movement. We are now going through the electoral process. We blew them out in New Jersey, we blew out the left in Virginia, in Massachusetts, and blew out the Kennedy seat! And now we’re swinging back around to other states.

Stop acting like a circus clown, Beck, and perhaps try the thoughtful, intelligent person. You can’t be both.

Be careful playing footsie with the mainstream media. They will promote you and then destroy you. They are not your friend.

Stop dividing us! Right now we have unity like never before. The President and his entire administration is a wrecking ball. It’s contempt for this President and what he, Pelosi and Reed are doing to this nation that is uniting us.

We want to stay on the battlefield, we want to OWN the battlefield, We want to take back our government! Now is the time to UNITE!

Last year the IPCC was “GOLD” – now they're saying: “we’re not relying on the IPCC, we’re relying on AMERICAN scientists” …. chuck the IPCC!!

This $15BILLION jobs bill that won’t do a thing for private sector jobs. We have a $14TRILLION economy. We’ve already spent Trillions, printed Trillions and borrowed Trillions in bailouts and subsidies and safety nets. $15Billion won’t do a thing. Half of the stimulus bill sits there. And the massive Obama budget increases – they were all supposed to stimulate job growth, but suddenly part of a new $15Billion bill is going to create jobs???

This was a pathetic political decision by Scott Brown. He can no longer claim to be a fiscal Conservative because he is irresponsible.

HE IS ANOTHER IRRESPONSIBLE BIG SPENDER!!!!!

That said, we need, and we needed his vote to fight government healthcare.

Many were saying a month ago “he is our presidential hopeful” – and many, including me, said, “NOW WAIT A MINUTE – HE JUST GOT THERE!!!”

Our priority right now is making sure this healthcare bill, which represents 1/6th of our economy DOES NOT PASS!

Why do you think the administration is steaming about Reconciliation?

Remember, do Conservatives really put all their faith in one politician? DO WE?

We should thank Brown for reminding us. We put our faith in the Constitution, Conservative Ideas and Principles, NOT POLITICIANS.

We endorse those who make the great fight – we oppose those who don’t.

Over in Arizona, Mitt Romney just shot himself in the foot for his endorsement of John McCain. He has no loyalty to John McCain or McCain to him. McCain hates his guts. It was utterly unnecessary. McCain is a big government statist when he’s not running for reelection. He wants to strip the First Amendment from the Constitution when it comes to political speech. He used to support Cap and Trade with Joe Lieberman, as recently as 2 years ago. He wants to confer citizenship on illegal aliens although he won’t talk about it right now. And he once opposed the relatively modest Bush Tax cuts claiming that they were tax cuts for the rich. He did it right on television. McCain is from a fairly Conservative state – he’s not from Massachusetts. McCain is part of the PROBLEM, not the SOLUTION!

And unlike Massachusetts where we couldn’t do much better than Scott Brown, in Arizona, we can do MUCH MUCH BETTER THAN JOHN McCAIN! He needs to be DEFEATED. He is smearing anyone who runs against him, including the viable Conservative candidates.

McCain’s strategy is obvious. He’s kinda weak among Conservatives, so he’s running around the country trying to get endorsements from some prominent Conservatives. He has already secured Sarah Palin’s endorsement.

The Washington Post has announced that McCain is seeking and will receive the endorsement of Virginia Governor Bob McDonald. This is very unfortunate. It’s a mistake for a fresh Conservative leader to back a big government statist.

We’re trying to do for this nation, what McDonald is trying to do in Virginia. And that is to implement Conservative principles. McCain, time and time again, undermined Conservatives in the Senate.

That is why you don’t paint with a broad brush and say, “AHH THE REPUBLICANS – THEY UNDERMINED US!!!”

McCain is TROUBLE! And he dragged the entire party, the movement, and dare I say the Country over the edge with his pathetic campaign against Obama, which we are now trying to recover from!

Conservatives are Realists and we’re also Activists – so we need to keep at it!!!

Our battle is bigger than John McCain, or any one candidate. We have important races. Some don’t have a choice, many of you do. Find out who the true Conservatives are, and support them!

Irene,
It was somewhat difficult to follow all of your thoughts but I think we are in general agreement. What I will not do any longer is "settle" for a GOP candidate as being the "lessor of two evils."

As for those opposing the healthcare power grab, too many of them, in my opinion, want to amend and change this farce rather than defeat it out of hand for being contrary to the Constitution and the will of the people. The worst thing the socialists could do would be to agree to include GOP input and pass this abomination that way.

I will not "pat them on the back," for simply doing their job. If they want to keep their jobs they have to earn them every day, on every issue.

With Kindest Regards,

Al,

” What I will not do any longer is "settle" for a GOP candidate as being the "lesser of two evils."

Well sort of. I will work at each stage (primaries etc.) to promote the most constitutionally & fiscally conservative possible.

But at the end, if the choice is between the lesser of two evils, I will vote for that lesser evil. To simply not vote is to hand the election to the “greater” of two evils.

“The worst thing the socialists could do would be to agree to include GOP input and pass this abomination that way.”

Yes, we need to impress upon the Republicans that incremental Socialism still arrives at the same unfortunate destination. Our current dilemma did not magically occur overnight.

We absolutely need to let the Republicans know that we are not interested in becoming their lapdog. (This is coming from a life-long Republican)

SPasses,
By making the statement you just made, you negate any pressure on the GOP to change. It's like having nuclear weapons but then publicly saying "we would never use them."

Your admission that you will vote for them regardless reinforces their philosophy of ignoring what we the people say. Just today there is a story on ABC about poor Steele being held to a "higher standard" because of his race. So now, not only is the GOP "socialist lite," they are also "race baiter lite."

What we have been voting for is more aptly defined as "the appearance of lessor evil"

It is your right, of course, but as for me, if they do not run candidates I believe in, they will not get my support. To paraphrase Lincoln, " I prefer my despotism pure, without the base alloy of hypocrisy."

JustAl,

I disagree. To not vote for the lesser of two evils (when that is the sole remaining choice) is to throw away your vote and enable the greater of two evils to prevail.

As an example, do you not believe that we would have been better off under McCain vs. Obama? McCain is rather a classic RINO in my view but surly would have been the lesser of two evils.

Again, the other point is that we must purify and realign the Republican Party at the primary level so that the most fiscally & constitutionally conservative candidate ends up in the general election. We must never become the lapdog of any Party!

We all know that our country needs a quick course correction towards its constitutional roots but perseverance and instrumentalism can prevail as well.

We did not get to our present crisis state all at once. Rather it was the product of 70+ years of incremental Socialism.

Scott
