This post is in no way angry criticism, I am a proud supporter of the Dallas Tea Party group and attend the functions, but has anyone thought of changing the name from the "Tea Party" to something that might be taken a little more seriously? Unfortunately, the media and other left groups have managed to associate "Tea Party" with degrading sexual acts and extreme right wing "lunatic fringe". I think the government and all Obama followers need to realize that we are serious and if our own Amercian Revolution hasn't taught them something, the French Revolution should. "Will of the People" from the quote of Thomas Jefferson would make a good name (original quote: 'The will of the people is the only legitimate foundation of any government, and to protect its free expression should be our first object.'. Just a thought. Quite frankly, "Will of the People" or "Peoples' Will" is a bit of a stronger statement than "Tea Party".

Here is something a little funny and ironic. The Boston Tea Party, which the movement is named after, is considered to be an outstanding moment of rebellion to unfair taxes that were levied on our citizens. In truth, the colonialists preferred Dutch tea over English. The English, in turn, enacted a massive tax cut on their tea and not the Dutch counterpart. The colonialists got ticked and dumped English tea in the ocean. So, technically, they were protesting a tax cut. See the irony. It is usually funny how the tea partiers rarely know the facts.

Well little fish, I guess you find it confusing when people are not willing to let the government buy their loyalty, it goes sort of counter to the Socialist mentality, doesn't it?
Now swim along back to the shallow water again.

Interesting, so you are saying that tax cuts are the government attempting to purchase the loyalty of the people? Interesting logic....do all of you share that logic, as it appears it is the fundamental issue of your stand.

Little Fish, While Obamabots may all think alike, the rest of us don't. All tax policy up down and sideways is perpetuated by politicians to keep power. That is why a straight across the board consumption tax is the only one that is equitable and is the one form that is lends itself the least to political manipulation.
The socialists programs are all about buying votes to stay in power, and spacial tax breaks are all about getting maximum contributions.
Which part of "follow the money" did you not understand?

Fair enough...just curious. I can definitely see that logic. The funny thing is, we "Obamabots" think that "we" are all over the place in our beliefs and goals, while we think you all are straight along the same line. Interesting. From the perspective of the progressives and basic liberals...let me be very honest, "man, we DO NOT all think alike." In fact, that is an area where we think we are the most vulnerable...you all are lock step together in your beliefs, and we are so all over the place. Some of think x, while another thinks y, while the rest think v, and our representatives think about how to get re-elected.

Global Warming? Redistribution of wealth? Abortion? Trains and mass transit? Single payer healthcare? Public Education? Unions? Taxes? Spending? Welfare?
If you say yes or increase more than 7 of 10, you might be a flaming liberal.
If you say no or cut all 10, you might be a conservative.
What do liberals think?
Global Warming?
Redistribution of wealth?
Abortion?
Trains and mass transit?
Single payer healthcare?
Public Education?
Unions?
Taxes?
Spending?
Welfare?
