Via the Dallas Morning News:

For the first time in years — and perhaps ever — [Commissioners' Court] attendees were screened by a metal detector at the entrance to the commission chambers.

“You wanted decorum, you got decorum,” Price said after the meeting.

But many speakers said afterward they felt Jenkins was shielding Price and his colleagues from any sort of criticism.

“It's not fair that you can't speak your mind,” said Greg Byrne, whose public comments were cut short earlier by Jenkins’ gavel.

Former Dallas school board member Ron Price said he couldn't believe what he witnessed, comparing it to a “communist state.”

Ron Price said he was used to taking criticism from the public while in office.

“Sometimes you just have to take the shots,” he said.

Ron Price said he was calling on Jenkins and the commissioners to revise its conduct policy.

Jenkins said he was just enforcing a policy he inherited. But his enforcement of that policy this morning was more stringent that ever before.

I had a blast at the rally. I so enjoyed razing the JWP supporters. I was the guy with the big Tea Party Flag. Let's do it again.

Tell your representatives in the US Congress to vote no on the continuing resolution next Wed because it does not cut funding to obamacare but funds it to the tune of 105 billion.

I am dismayed to see comments like Big Kev's-and even more dismayed to think he might be a Tea Party supporter.

The point of yesterday's rally was not to have "a blast" nor was it to heckle JWP supporters!!

The primary issues are/have been the forced resignation of Bruce Sherbet and, with his departure, the concern about fair and honest elections in Dallas County. After watching videos from yesterday's meeting, I would add that an additional concern is now the denial of First Amendments right by Judge Jenkins.

Sorry, Big Kev, but if you want to party and raise hell, please go somewhere else! And don't do it under the guise of the Tea Party!

Perhaps you're just an infiltrator...

I'm not sure there's anything wrong with standing up for liberty with a smile on your face.

Then again, if we can win over JWP's supporters, so much the better!
by Observer  2011-02-23 11:43:48
First amendment anyone?
by Keith  2011-02-23 12:45:19
Amazing how the media gloss over the words of JWP & don't spend time repeating them & showing them printed out on the screen. This is so blatant, the national news should be plastering his words on the screen. The cover-up continues as does the slandering of innocent conservatives.
by Mary B  2011-02-23 15:13:33
Clearly a violation of our First Amendment rights. What are they going to do next week?
by Russ Mathis   2011-02-23 16:16:09
I am about as conservative as it gets. I have no loyalty to the Republicans if they are not making good conservative decisions. I continue to admire what you are doing. I may at some point get more involved. But I'll be damned if I am going to wave that goofie serpent flag. Lose the snake and your membership might increase.
by Ron  2011-02-23 17:41:05
Obviously Russ you are ignorant of what that "goofie" flag represents. However, I do agree with katfishe, that this was not the occasion for Tea party representation in the form of obnoxious behavior.
by Barbara Olsen  2011-02-23 18:08:05
I would be there, if I had someone to ride with; I don't like going down there alone. I would like to add that Price and the Maylor Protem have made Dallas a laughing stock. I am not originally from Dallas, and you should hear the teasing I get from East and West Texas/
by Linda  2011-02-24 12:16:47
That is why people prefer to live and work outside of Dallas county.
by Marcial Bonifacio  2011-02-27 01:40:22
My friends, we must continue to protest John Wiley Price, so that he will eventually be removed from office. This will also be another chance to elevate the status of the Tea Party, if we can accomplish such a difficult task. Keep up the good work.

Long live the Tea Party!
Long live America!
