Via Statesman.com:
Some 46 conservative activists and tea party leaders from around the state sent current and incoming members of the Texas House a letter today urging them to replace Republican Speaker Joe Straus.
“A change to a more conservative speaker is in order,” the letter says. “The voters who labored hard for this conservative majority expect it to diligently represent their conservative values.”
Signers include Michael Quinn Sullivan of Empower Texans, Peggy Venable of Americans for Prosperity of Texas, Dave Welch of the Texas Pastor Council and the presidents of nine tea party groups from around Texas.
The letter says, “The victory of nearly two dozen conservative Republican legislators reflects the mood of Texas voters on the state’s critical issues. It was a clarion call for conservative leadership in the Texas House - leadership that has been absent the past two years. The desire for conservative leadership must be reflected from the Office of the Speaker to every committee chairmanship.

Elections have consecuences. Conservatives need to capitalize on our victories across the nation
We want the RIGHT results.
We've seen the kind of 'results' Straus delivers.
You'd better watch out. Straus may be a little too low key for you, but has done his job well before. As Speaker, he's obligated to referee the place, not be Julius Caesar. Think you're gaining something by screaming for Chism?
Well, get a load of this from today's papers - a quote by Chism about the illegals:
%u201CWe have as many undocumented people here in the state as anybody, and we need to figure out how to get them documented %u2014 those that are working and doing fine and abiding by the law,%u201D Chisum said. %u201CWe need a way to have that workforce here. ... But it needs to be legal, documented, know where they are, paying taxes and abiding by the law.%u201D
That's a cut-and-paste quote.
If that's not Amnesty-driven RINO talk, I'll kiss your foot. Call Berman and get him back in the race. It's the only way to get what you want - genuine Conservatism and a bulwark against the illeg
They'll do the same thing if they get another term.
"The time has come that Christians must vote for honest men and take consistent ground in politics, or the LOrd will curse them....God cannot sustain this free and blessed country, which we love and pray for, unless the Church will take right ground. Politics are a part of religion in such a country as this, and Christians must do their duty to the country as a part of their duty to God."
We have all worked to return TX to right ground, now let's be sure that duty is served. God bless the state of TX.
May God bless your efforts.
Keep praying.
I'm a small business person who has to deal with the outrageous electric rates. How many are trying to help their kids with college? The list goes on and on.
Let's don't become "sheeple" who think just because they say they're conservative that they are doing the best thing for the people of Texas.
Lets don't be a bunch of "sheeple"
"WE" need to ask the 2 State Republican Exec Comm. Members "how to" get involved in the local (county ?) Republican Party.
AND the Conservative Republicans must caucus to see that they win the "Leaders'" positions in both Houses.

I just mailed of 18 letters to my city and county officials (legislative, judicial, and law enforcement) requesting their presence at the Sheriff Mack events on Nov 20th. I encourage others to do the same! If they don't know what's in the constitution, how will they know when they violate their Oath of office?
Thanks!
May God bless Texas and protect the courageous state legislators that are standing up for His principles. If you STAY under His umbrella, you are protected from the rain.
We conservatives made great progress in November, and we must continue to stand up to all who would try to diminish our freedom and prosperity in exchange for their own political gains.
