Candidates for Texas Court of Criminal Appeals (www.star-telegram.com/politics/story/1948285), Texas Supreme Court Election Information (www.scotxblog.com/campaigns/), & Texans for Better Science Education (www.strengthsandweaknesses.org/) provide information on judicial and SBOE candidates. Please let us know if you have additional resources.

Thank you for providing this! It's extremely helpful!
by Bob Jackson  2010-02-17 18:22:21
I have mixed feelings about how much ALL of these resources will help.
The information is great, but at the same time confusing. In looking at three different groups, they each endorsed a different candidate for governor.
We need more cohesion and unity, not diversity to make the people's "real" change possible.

Bob, I'm sorry that you feel the need to have someone tell you for whom to vote or (worse yet) tell someone else for whom he or she should vote. The Dallas Tea Party, from its inception, has been nonpartisan and has encouraged its members to think for themselves. Some will support more of the same waste and corruption by voting for an incumbent or a Senator, while others will vote for a change in direction for the State of Texas and a return to responsible, fiscally conservative management. The Tea Party can't decide for whom you should vote, just as you shouldn't tell others for whom they should vote. We pick our candidates based on a host of issues and determine which of those issues most influences our decisions.

My personal opinion is that the Texas Eagle Forum protects incumbents and focuses on the social issues; the Republican Liberty Caucus focuses on Liberty and Fiscal Responsibility; Young Conservatives of Texas used to be a relatively libertarian group full of Austrian

Jarrod, what do you mean when you say nonpartisan? I am an independent voter. I do not lean left or right. But it seems to me that the Tea Party is a tool for the GOP. The group is not upset with government in general but with the fact that democracts are in control of the white house. Is this correct? Therefore it has a partisan agenda...get republicans elected. Right? Thanks

A thought:
What if a consertave candidate acceptable to Tea parties could put an appeal for fincial support
thru the Tea party system.
That would be powerful!!!
Hate to say his name, obama did it in last election T

Bob Jackson Is SPOT on .
Anyone have ideas

I would have LOVED to have all of this voter guide information a little bit earlier. I voted yesterday on the first day of early voting. Can y'all do it earlier next time? Thanks!

Late coming into Tea Party activities, it seems many of the participants still are carrying too much GOP baggage. If wtp don't accept new people we are doomed for sure.
by  sparkie  2010-02-18 10:02:55
It is amazing how the Common Sense (on governor) poll shows the person leading does not believe in E-Verify (debate on KERA) nor has she made up her mind on "the blame game" of 9/11 (Beck's radio question to Medina). I thought tea party participants were more conservative than what this poll shows. By the way, Heritage Alliance gives a simple voter guide.

I support the TEA Party movement 100%. But as in the case of Nevada, where the possibility exists that the TEA Party candidate could steal enough votes from the Republican candidate and therefore split the vote so that Harry Reid gets re elected. If that happens, then our movement will NOT be doing what it is supposed to -- get people out of office who don't support limited goverment, fiscal and personal responsibility, strict adherence to the Constitution amoung others. I know the Nevada Tea Party group is different in makeup from North Texas, but the reason for banding together is to change Congress. What might happen in Nevada could happen in many races around the country. WE DON'T NEED A THIRD PARTY. If the TEA Party continues nationally like the Nevada group we will have the same problem as we did in 1992. By conservative people voting for Ross Perot, we elected Bill Clinton. Don't let that happen or we will all fail.

You have voiced the same concerns that I have had and discussed with others who agree.

As long as we don't elect another Bush to office is fine by me.
by David Smith  2010-02-18 13:50:48
I hope that residents in Texas' 32nd Congressional District will note that NOT ONE of these organizations has endorsed U.S. Rep. Pete Sessions in our race. NOT ONE!! That summarizes the definition of the lack of leadership and completely ineffective representation that the incumbent offers if re-elected once again. I hope that all will visit my web site and vote for me in the Republican Primary. Early voting is ongoing through 2/26/2010 and the Primary is March 2nd.

Why aren't you endorsing candidates? Where better to get the word out on true conservatives?
by Kevin Bolton  2010-02-18 21:14:48
No third party! Divided we fall.
by JoAnne Braley  2010-02-20 18:06:07
Bob has mixed feelings. Jarrod says
no one should tell us how to vote. Here's the problem. I was with Perot, and that caused Clinton to get in. I do not like Gov. Perry, but Hutchinson did not receive the Tea Party when we went to her office. The third one (new woman) is great, but she may get Perry re-elected. See what I mean? I do not know how to vote, except I do know Sam Johnson and will vote for him, of course, and maybe just against any other one who is in office? Or What? I used to be a Democrat, and now a Republican, but I didn't think McCain quite right.
This is difficult, please help. Thanks, Jo in Plano

Very excellent and useful website There was such great information on all the candidates

We are not happy that the local Tea Party in the 75067 and 75028 which includes a few other zip codes sends us recommnendations of candidates to vote for. We have told everyone, including the lady from Frisco that we are perfectly able to make our own decisions and do not need anyone to vet candidates for us. If this is the way the Dallas Tea Party is going to run things, we will take our names off your list.
by Dean  2010-02-24 14:18:53
Loved your invitation to Keith! Wish we could be there to help you celebrate. Keep up the great work. Happy Anniversary to us all!

Heritage Alliance (.com) has a voter guide covering contested statewide races and all the contested races in the larger counties. Join (it's free) to access.

I'm a conservative and believe in strict cunstructionalist interpretation of the United States Constitution, the highest law in the land. You state that you do not indorse any candidaite yet you have web links to Glenn Beck's 912 Project. This same Glenn Beck who did a hatchet job on Debra Medina on behalf of Rick Perry because Perry has been pushing the books of W. Cleon Clousen who is a nutjob and who's teaching's Beck has swallowed hook line and sinker. He started the 912 Project to further this same nutty agenda and these decent folks have no idea what Beck truely believes
and he is now trying to coopt the Tea Party movement. If you align yourselves with the 912 Project your group has in fact endorsed a candidate, Rick Perry. And if you're aligned with Glenn Beck I'm not aligned with you because you're being used.

Does anyone know anything about David Smith, who is running for Texas Congressional 32nd district?
by Sandra  2010-05-07 10:16:02
I have already joined the Tea Party. My question is this. I know that the Tea Party is supporting conservative candidates from the state house to Washington. But what about the candidates in local city, county and school board elections? Where can I find out how they stand as conservatives on local issues? Too many people run or join the "good old boys" when they get elected and to stay in good with certain factions, they vote for more taxes and throwing money at problems where too much money already exists.

Thanks, Sandra
