From the article:

"From Dallas to Carrollton and all across the area, an estimated 50 teams from various Tea Parties hit the pavement Saturday to not only alert potential voters about the primary, but also to get promises.

When candidates canvass a neighborhood door-to-door they're generally asking people to vote for them, but the Tea Party groups are just asking people to vote, period.

Tea Parties are neophytes compared to established political groups. But they have what all parties want: motivated members."

It's very satisfying to be informing my neighbors, without any ax to grind. It's been cold outside, so many neighbors have been asking us inside. What fun!

History is in the making. We are taking back our country from the threat of central government control. The threat is always there; we have to be ever vigilant!

We're moving up. We have to keep the momentum up and the ball moving. Too many times the liberals have moved the ball up court and we were satisfied to stop them. We must take back the ground that has been lost and good networking will make that happen. This movement is the only hope that we have in remaining free from this impending bondage.

We had a very favorable response. One memorable event was when 3 of us approached a home where an older woman answered the door. She and her husband invited us in because it was so cold. She was a retired teacher associated with the TEA and her husband was still teaching MBA candidates at one of the local Universities (I missed the name). You would expect them to be liberal, but they have the same concerns we have. They did not have any current political information and wanted to be on our email list.

In another neighborhood I noticed a conservative bumper sticker on a car parked in the driveway and a full size flag pole with a great flag flying. Nobody home, so we left an invitation to join us Tuesday evenings rolled up in the door latch. As we were leaving, they pulled out of their garage. They had heard of the Tea Party and were glad to be invited. They asked for 4 sets of literature so they could distribute to people they know in the neighborhood. They will be voti

I believe every canvasser should hand out a copy of the U.S. Constitution. I saw a miniature copy of it on a news program several days ago. It would be a bonus if specific sections of the document were underlined to annotate where we have already, and may continue to, loose our freedoms. Ask voters to read at least the underlined sections and ask candidates if they support the U. S. Constitution.

How can I find out who the incumbents are and who the conservative candidates are? Is there a web site or some other site I can access?

This past Saturday was so much fun! Not many of my neighbors were home but I did talk with five people who don't normally vote in primaries but promised they would vote in this one. Everyone said "thank you for doing this."
Another fun time with DTP!

My problem as well as all of my friends is....we really do not understand/know what the candidates believe in or what their values and history are. Where can we get this information?

Check out heritagealliance.com on February 15th, also Young Conservatives of Texas and Texas Eagle Forum

Alert
I have just discovered that it is possible to start a petition drive to recall elected officials (all the cowardly democrats who voted against the will of the people for Marxist medicine) in the following states:
Colorado Oregon
Louisiana Washington
Michigan North Dakota
Wisconsin
This was sourced from Mark Levin's web site. If you know people from these states encourage them to act.
